As arresting and unforgettable as a Norton 950cc motorcycle smashing through your front wall, Jim Steinman's Bat Out Of Hell was the must–have album of the late 1970s, a leather–clad, stud–gauntletted and ripped–jeans anthem to sex, adrenalin and... motorbikes.
Listening to this while driving down the motorway was a sure way to risk a speeding ticket as your foot slammed into the floor and all caution went out of the window. And that mix of operatic grandeur and over–the–top adolescent passion was the perfect gift to karaoke before anyone had heard of karaoke. Nobody could forget the heartbreaking cynicism of Two Out of Three Ain't Bad or the hilarious baseball commentary of Paradise By The Dashboard Light. No wonder the album spent 485 weeks in the UK charts and sold 43 million copies worldwide.
If ever there was a studio album begging to become a West End musical, where its uniquely visual songs could be brought to life in a thrilling stage act, it had to be Bat Out Of Hell. Now at last you can get all revved up with somewhere to go with this great Omega break which includes Upper Circle ticket (face value £45 – upgrades available) plus rail travel, choice of 4 star central London hotels, full English breakfast and free time in London.
But book early, because this is a limited six–week run only!
