Our popular Classical Spectacular concerts have featured in our short breaks programme for several years now, and new for 2017 we bring you a voyage through a galaxy of favourite music from deep space and beyond, with lights, lasers and indoor fireworks - it's Space Spectacular!
Featuring works by Holst, Strauss and John Williams - perhaps the greatest film composer of all time - this music has accompanied us on epic adventures, told us stirring tales, and taken us on many imaginary journeys, even going back a long time ago to a galaxy far, far away...
You'll hear iconic pieces from favourite movies including Star Wars, Superman, E.T., and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (all John Williams), Apollo 13 (John Horner) and Independence Day (David Arnold), plus classical favourites like Holst's Mars and Jupiter from The Planets suite, all accompanied by spectacular lighting effects for a visual and acoustic experience you'll never forget!
Performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis.
