Island of Capri
With fabulous views and blue, blue sea, Capri is a stunning destination for our full day tour. This beautiful island lies on the southern edge of the Bay of Naples, beyond the Sorrentine Peninsula, and has entranced generations of artists and writers, celebrities - and even royalty! The Roman Emperor Tiberius made it his home, and the scenic remains of his palace, the Villa Jovis, can be found high on the coast. With a rocky shoreline and many scenic charms, a combination of simple, natural beauty and shimmering glitz make Capri one of the Mediterranean’s top attractions.
A short funicular railway ride takes you from the harbour of Marina Grande to the town of Capri, where you may wish to relax for a while in the legendary Piazzetta, the social hub of the town with colourful, open air cafes. The island also has many beautiful and interesting walks, superb panoramic views, and stunning locations like the Faraglioni rocks and the fantastic Blue Grotto, renowned for its iridescent blue waters and magical, silvery lights. Capri town is also world famous for its fabulous designer name shops and fashionable boutiques! With spectacular coastal scenery, pretty hillside towns and groves of fragrant lemons, the Island of Capri radiates true Mediterranean charm.

Pompeii & Vesuvius
This unforgettable full day tour is made up of a great combination of the uniquely preserved Roman city of Pompeii, and Mount Vesuvius, whose volcanic eruption destroyed the city almost 2000 years ago. The volcanic ash which buried Pompeii also captured a ‘snapshot’ of the life and times of its inhabitants, and the city has been excavated since 1748. It is now an UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Italy’s top tourist attractions! The ordinary people who lived and died in Pompeii were caught in time when their bodies were covered by the hardening volcanic ash. On excavation, their hollow shapes were filled with plaster to show them as they appeared when their thriving city was destroyed on 24 August 79 AD.
Many fabulous furnishings and frescos have been preserved intact, giving us a better understanding of the personal lives of these ancient peoples. The excavated town offers a wonderful view of life at the height of the Roman Empire and the terrible last minutes of a living city before it was buried for more than 1600 years.
Our tour continues as we travel to the awe-inspiring Mount Vesuvius, where the dramatic mountain peak has panoramic views of some of the most picturesque scenery on earth. We will drive to a height of 3000 feet. From here, you may wish to take a guided walk to the edge of the crater, enjoying the wildlife and flowers of one of the most amazing places on earth. Witness the fantastic landscape and admire the unforgettable, panoramic views across the Bay. Comfortable shoes (not sandals) and a camera are a must!
Usually departs on Tuesday. Price; £35pp
Positano, Amalfi & Ravello
The Amalfi Drive is said to be the most spectacular highway in Europe and this winding cliff top road offers breathtaking panoramic views at every turn. The tour stops just above Positano, which boasts picturesque white villas perched dramatically on the steep hillside. Then on to Amalfi which gives its name to the whole coast on which it lies; once a thriving Marine Republic powerful and prosperous, and now a thriving holiday resort. The unmistakable cluster of white tightly packed houses rising up the hillside is dominated by the beautiful Cathedral, which stands on top of a great flight of steps leading up from the main square. The remains of the patron saint of Amalfi, and also Scotland - Saint Andrew - are housed in the Cathedral. From Amalfi, we visit Ravello which nestles 1100 feet above the sea.
Usually departs on Thursday. Price; £25pp
