Join us this Easter as we explore the spectacular scenery of the Gower Peninsular and Pembrokeshire coast. One day will be spent walking the ‘Area of outstanding natural beauty’ that is the Gower Peninsular. Given the title over 50 years ago, here golden beaches line the shore, framed by spectacular cliffs and open moorland blends with lush countryside. The Pembrokeshire coast will also offer you breathtaking views on your second walk of the holiday, with its rich and diverse landscape of coves, beaches and historic features. With two fully guided walks showing you the best of the southern Wales shoreline, this break is not to be missed.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cardiff

Your holiday begins when you board our private coach in the early morning and travel to Cardiff, making appropriate stops en-route. As the capital city of Wales, Cardiff's history dates back to the Roman times and there are a number of castles and historic sites to visit. The 'big 3' attractions are Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium and the National Museum, which you may choose to visit (not included). There are many other attractions as well as a generous number of shops. There are also plenty of places for you to relax and enjoy some food and drink. After some free time we continue to our hotel for your included evening meal. For the self drive option you may wish to visit Cardiff en-route to the hotel where you can check in from 2pm.

Day 2: The Gower Peninsular guided walk

After your included breakfast, we travel aboard our coach to The Gower Peninsular, where we will meet our walking guide. We follow the quiet lanes and footpaths to Nantlais, Burry Head, Druid's lodge and on to Upper Hardingsdown. From here we are soon in the delightful little village of Llangennith. Half a mile's walk takes us down to the sea at Hillend, where we will make a stop for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, we will walk along the fabulous Rhossili Beach. After all that walking, we can put our feet up and have a well deserved drink in the Worm's Head Hotel (not included), which overlooks the wonderful Worm's Head; a spectacular rocky feature. We will then travel back to your hotel for your included evening meal. Today’s walk is approximately 8 miles long.

Day 3: Pembrokeshire coast guided walk

After your included breakfast, we travel aboard our coach to Manorbier on the Pembrokeshire coast, where we will meet our walking guide. The village is noted for its Norman Castle and its association with Giraldu Cambrensis. We can follow the footpath over some fields and then following the coastal path we soon come to Skrinkle Haven with its three beautiful coves. We walk around Lydstep Point and along the pleasant Lydstep Beach. Our walk then takes us around Giltar point onto the magnificent South beach where we will see Caldey Island; one of Britain's holy Islands, where monks have resided since as early as the 6th Century. From here we can paddle along the shore all the way to Tenby, before putting our boots on again and walking into the town. With lots to see and do here it might be good to take a packed lunch (this can be pre booked from the hotel). We will then return to our hotel for your included evening meal. Today’s walk is approximately 8 miles long.

Day 4: The Mumbles

After your included breakfast we will board the coach and travel to The Mumbles; a seaside village situated in Swansea Bay. Here you will have free time to do as you please, whether it be relaxing on the beach with an ice-cream, or taking a stroll to see the Mumbles Pier, Lighthouse and Lifeboat House. There is a good choice of shops and restaurants to spend your time in. Later on we will commence the return journey, arriving back in our local area in the mid to late evening. For the self drive option you may wish to visit The Mumbles before returning home.
Safety and Comfort: The walks advertised are designed and led by an experienced walking guide. They are suitable for anyone who is fully mobile and reasonably fit (you need to be able to climb a stile without difficulty), though we realise everyone has their own pace so for your own health and safety there will also be a back marker to guide you. It is essential that you wear the appropriate footwear - either strong shoes or boots which give ankle support, with soles which give a good grip as surfaces may be uneven/wet etc. A waterproof coat, warm clothes and comfortable trousers are also strongly advisable. A rucksack/backpack is recommended to carry any extra clothes and drinks/snacks. Please note: Routes may be altered due to weather conditions. If you are not wearing suitable clothing, the walking guide has the right to stop you from participating for your own health and safety.
